Dying Young

I look in the mirror, what do I see

Some old man looking back at me

I know for sure somewhere deep inside

There's still a little boy who's just tryin' to hide

When life was new, he thought it would last
But time just flew, disappeared so fast
And somehow he grew older
While he was out having fun
But at least he doesn't have to worry about dying young

Dying young ain't gonna happen

Dying young isn't written in the book

All I have to do is pick up that mirror and just take a look

Dying young ain't in my future if I sink with the setting sun

Well at least I don't have to worry about dying young

As the pages turn, and the paths unfold

As the fires burn until the flames grow cold

You know I think I'll just go on breathin'

And keep that reaper on the run

Cause I know I don't have to worry about dying young

No, no

Dying young just ain't gonna happen

Dying young isn't written in the book

All I have to do is pick up that mirror and just take a look

Dying young is not something I ponder

When I'm through and my race is run

Well at least I don't have to worry about dying young

Dying young

No need to deny it, or try to resist

I'm gonna get me a pencil
And scratch it right off the list

Cause as for me it's too late to happen

Guess I'll keep on keepin' on

Cause I know I don't have to worry about dying young

No I sure don't have to worry about dying young

Dying young
