It's not quite Wolfgang's
Vault, but it is proof that I was a B&S-head back in the day. I personally
collected these four posters in the early 1970s and thought I had lost them
in a flooded basement in the 1990's. All this time that I have been working on the Brewer &
Shipley website, I thought my posters had been destroyed. To my utter
delight, my
son found them stored away, only a little worse the wear of surviving 36
years, a flooded basement and push pins from two generations of Brewer & Shipley fans.
The Red Dog posters were
given to me after the shows those two nights by Red Dog staff. The
other two were given to me by Good Karma staff when I showed up on their
doorstep
at
4318 Main in Kansas City and asked if they had any Brewer & Shipley
merchandise that I could purchase. Whomever was working that day in
1972 took the
time to go somewhere in the office and came back and gave me the Cowtown
concert
poster and the Kama Sutra publicity poster. Looking back I wonder if
it was Mort, Gary or Paul Peterson that gave me those posters that day.
In any case, it truly was Good Karma, and because of their kindness and my son's
appreciation of my musical tastes, they are now
preserved for Brewer & Shipley fans.
Every little thing we're puttin' out returns to us again
Note:
I'll add these to the Poster page but wanted to tell the story here first.
