This
misinformation is all over the internet and is even listed on the 1997
Brewer & Shipley Archive Alive CD booklet, which includes "Not
Far From Free", Mercury Records 1978, in a list of their previous albums.
So did the
Archive Alive misinformation cause the internet misinformation or
vice versa? Searching the net, we did find a 1977 Mercury album
titled "Not Far From Free" by the Don Harrison Band, but have no clue
how that would have gotten mistaken as a Brewer & Shipley effort.
Of all
the sites that list this as a Brewer & Shipley LP, none of them are able
to give a list of songs on the album. However, several of these
sites have recently taken the misinformation a step further and given
the album a two-star rating. Not bad for a fictitious album.
